My twin sister, Jean, and I got married on July 11, 1964, in a double wedding ceremony. We have always enjoyed dressing alike, and for our weddings we chose identical wedding dresses, veils and bouquets. Our matching gowns were made from imported Chantilly lace, embellished with pearls and sequins on the bodices, and long chapel trains.
Jean and I have been best friends forever. We even had our baby showers together—our babies were born within a month or two of each other each time we were expecting. When the children were born, Jean and I raised our babies as brothers and sisters rather than cousins.
