And if you are one of them you know that there is no feeling like the one you get as you lock eyes with a dog and know its “the one.” Whether you visited your local shelter, you fell in love as you walked through a rescue outside your favorite big box store, or you agreed to adopt a pup site unseen from a website like Petfinder, the day you bring home a new dog is one of the most memorable days ever. It’s important to remember though, that your new rescue dog has been through some upheaval and there are several things you need to keep in mind as your new pet adjusts to their new family.
